Handmade Enameled Copper Earrings ~~ Clear Enamel over Copper with Aqua Blue and Tangerine ~ Sterling silver earwires

Clear Enamel with Aqua Blue and Tangerine accents. Handmade Enameled Copper Earrings, Made in The Fussy Pup Workshop. Seymour Indiana, USA

Earrings are 1.5 inches (3.5 cm) long ~ total drop is 2 inches (4.5 cm)
Each Enameled Copper Disk is 1.5" X 7/8" (2.4 X 3.5 cm)
Each Earring weighs 3.5 grams, 1/8 ounce

I cut copper disks one at a time and cold forge them into oblong shapes.

Each disk is then coated and torch fired one at a time in multiple coats of glass enamel front and back. The front is finished with a hard clear coat.

The edges are then sanded to expose the bright copper underneath; sanded yet again for a completely smooth finish.

The enameling begins with two base coats of Clear Enamel. To expose the copper the clear enamel is fired hotter and Longer than normal to dissolve the dark fire scale. I then fire with tangerine and blue transparent enamels. The Earrings are finished with a hard clear coat.

These earrings are one of a kind, no other earrings I make will be exactly the same. I love the contrast of the orange against the blue background, it reminds me of turquoise and copper.
