Cinnamon Shortbread Cutouts Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Cinnamon Sugar Mix:
- 1 Tbs cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
Instructions:
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together for about 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually mix in the flour, salt, and cinnamon until just combined.
- Gently knead the dough to form a compact ball. Flatten into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for 60 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the fridge and allow it to warm slightly. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 inch.
- Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mix.
- Place cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for 13-15 minutes or until edges are just golden.
- Cool cookies on a wire rack before serving.
